Saraswati

Saraswati (Sarasvati) is the wife of Brahma. Originally she was a river goddess and fertility goddess. Mostly she is depicted as a nice, young woman seated on a lotos. She plays a Vina (Indian lute); in the other of her four hands she holds a book, the Vedas and a mala (prayer string). Saraswati is considered to be the goddess of the knowledge, the language, the poetry and the music.
