Bells
The hand bell (Ghanta) is one of the most common ceremonial objects in Tibetan Buddhism. It symbolises the impermanence and momentariness of the apparent world and the feminine principle. The bell forms together with the Dorje (Vajra), the symbol of the absolute and the masculine principle, an inseparable pair. It symbolises the unity of masculine and feminine energy and is an allegory of the dual unity of absolute and relative truth and awareness. The combination of these aspects is essential in Buddhism to reach to the awakening.
