Incense

Incense and fragrant substances (e.g., resins, wood, herbs) are since beginning of humanity in the most different cultures in use. Thus it was also in Tibet the case where already in prebuddhist times odoriferous herbs, green leaves of different trees and other nonpoisonous substances were used by the followers of the ruling Bön religion. After their belief the burning of incense could clean negative energy and cure the physical as well as the etheric body.
